Erfurt
family-weekend
I was on a family-weekend-get-away one month ago and went to Erfurt. To be honest, at first I was a bit scepitcal whether the city would be interesting and nice, because I have never heard any recommendations to go there from my circle of friends or any one else. What I was expecting though, were ancient builings and churches with a historical background. Because what I have to explain here briefly is that my uncle picks out the city for our family-weekend and he is very keen on educating us historically and culturally.
My impression of the city is, that it is small but very, very charming. I heard someone called it "Venice of East-Germany" and I kind of see the relation to it a little bit, because you have these small bridges and canals, which run through the city. What I also liked was the fact, that the streets are in some places a bit contorted and narrow and a lot of houses are just beautiful.
And now the bad news: I am sorry to say that my phone somehow deleted all my camera-pictures and I can only show you the ones I already had uploaded on my computer. There are not many pictures, but luckily I could save the ones of this cute little café I really liked!
